Jennifer Garner, born April 17th, 1972 in Houston, Texas, was born within Charleston West Virginia. Her father, William John Garner, was a chemical engineer at Union Carbide. Patricia Ann was a teacher at the local university. Wanting to follow the footsteps of her father and earn a degree in chemical engineering. In order to be an actress she went on a trip to New York. She worked as a chef in a New York restaurant and was a part of Broadway productions. On the television series "Felicity," she had a small cameo. (It was on this show that she got to know the man she married, Scott Foley. Garner was a star in her romantic comedic film "13 Goin' on 30" where she played a teenager trapped in a 30 year-old's body. Garner decided to choose Gary Winick to direct the film. They kept looking for new projects until Winick's passing away in the year 2011. Garner became an ambassador of Save the Children U.S.A. in 2009. The role entails promoting literacy and nutrition in the United States, as well as early childhood education. Garner is a board member as a member of the board since 2014, has been an advocate of early learning. As an ambassador, she regularly visits with families involved in the organisation's Early Steps to School Success program. The program guides parents on ways to support youngsters to learn.
