Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. She began her Broadway career in musicals, including Wicked Legally Blonde, as well as Hair. Her role as Essie Carmahiel in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel earned her the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actor in the Play. Annaleigh Ashford is a Tony Award winner actor has worked with a variety of famous directors and actors on stage and screen. The award-winning actress continues her career by working on new projects. Ashford will next be seen with Kumail Nannjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is currently working on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust which stars Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. This film is a Hulu Original and will be streaming on Disney DTC. In March of 2023 Ashford will make a return appearance on Broadway and star opposite Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will serve as the creators of the musical. Ashford most recently starred Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the crisis in America that picked up Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country's first impeachment proceedings in over a century. Two seasons ago, Ashford was a star of CBS's hit series B Positive. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not familiar with Broadway was awarded both Tony Drama Desk Awards as along with Outer Critics Circle Awards in her character in the role of Essie. Also, she has been in Broadway on Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde in addition to the original role as Lauren In Kinky Boots for which she received a nomination for the Tony Award. Ashford is an Denver resident who splits his time in Los Angeles.
