Ashanti Shequoiya, who was born Douglas, is well-known as Ashanti. Ashanti was birthed 13 October 1980, at Glen Cove New York United States. Ashanti is a United States singer, songwriter and actress. Ashanti was famous when she was a teenager. In 2002, she was signed to Murder Inc. Records. She was featured on Fat Joe's What's Luv? song that the same year. She also appeared in Fat Joe's track What's Luv?! and Ja Rules' track Never In Time, both of which were huge hits. Kenashia Shai Douglas is her younger sister. She is the oldest. She continued to perform at New York, and she started to visit with the Murder Inc. studios hoping for a big break. Ashanti was initially a backup vocalist for Big Pun's track, How We Roll. Ashanti sang on Fat Joe's song What's Luv? Ja Rule's always on time and Fat Jojo's What's Luv? also featured her. The track she used for her debut single Foolish comes from DeBarge's Stay with Me song from 1983. Ashanti has released her debut self-titled album in 2002. It was released via Irv Goti's Murder Inc. label. The Declaration the fourth studio album, was released on June 3, 2008. Hey Baby (After The Club) was released on radios as well as digital platforms on 16 October. She was in the film Christmas in the City and as Latasha Montclair on Army Wives.
