Ashley Wagner was conceived on the 16th of May, 1992 in Heidelberg, Germany. As a teenager, in her early years, Ashley found herself hanging out with older girls and this impacted her self-confidence when she found them to look more mature and in her mind, prettier than she was. Ashley described her teenage self as being an "hot-mess". Ashley's mother enrolled her into training classes for modeling to increase her confidence, and Ashley was able to begin thinking about modeling as an option for a future profession.
