Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born on the 12th of November, 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now Onesti] Romania). She was first to achieve a perfect 10 in an Olympic event. Bela Karalyi discovered Comaneci at age six. She would later be Romania's gymnastics coach. Comaneci participated for the first time in the 1969 national junior championships. She finished 13th. The following year she won the title of champion. The first time she competed in an international event in an Olympic-style junior preolympic competition for nations in the Communist bloc, she won 3 gold medals. And in 1973 and 1975 she was crowned all-around Junior Champion. At her first competitive event at a senior level Lyudmila Turkishcheva from Russia took home five gold medals, as well as one silver. She was the first woman to perform a reverse double salo with the bar with a parallel surface in the event she won American Cup, New York City 1976. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was in her teens she started appearing on traveling shows like Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th day of September 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol started her career in entertainment as a teenager. She began her professional career by performing figure skating alongside Nina Wayne, her younger sister as part of traveling entertainment shows Ice Capades. The show featured stage-moving ice-skating performances.
